DLF Indian Premier League Season 2 in SouthAfrica
Game of Passion, Aspiration and Triumph heading towards its Centenary celebration is Cricket. Change, which is permanent immaterial of ends did strike the game last year giving new facet and re-life in the form of T20.
Gaining its momentum more than expectation at its launch Indian Premium League witnessed huge hype with players exhibiting immense talent towards The Game of Cricket. Price for the effort was paid off to the Commissioner of IPL Mr.Lalit Modi and his team. With the success of IPL Season I being fresh in the minds of Cricket Enthusiast yet another reason to rejoice is on cards with successful foundation for IPL Season 2 being laid, laid strong.
India being a Multi-dilemmatic Country irrespective of Sectors, it is not shocking news for the drama to end inappropriately as the decision on conducting the Indian Premier League Season 2 to be hosted in South Africa.
IPL Season II 2009 will kick off at The Newlands in Cape Town on April 18th while the semi-finals are to be held on May 22nd and 23rd at Pretoria and Johannesburg. Grand Finale takes its position at The Wanderers in Johannesburg on May 24th.
The league will showcase a grand total of 59 matches providing broadcasters and in-stadia spectators with 177 hours of live “family entertainment”, targeting international audience as well.
All matches will be telecasted by Sony Entertainment at 4pm and 8pm IST the official broadcaster for IPL to coincide with prime time for television audience in India.
Season 2 of the Indian Premier League will feature eight Franchises battling for over a month in South Africa continuing to play on a home and away basis. The top 4 Franchises in the league will contest the semi-finals and the victorious semi-finalists will meet in the Grand Final all over one weekend.
In a double header on the first day, First edition’s winners Rajasthan Royals will take on the Bangalore Royal Challengers while Mumbai Indians would clash with the runners-up Chennai Super Kings at Cape Town.
